Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Kansas City, Missouri. This position is a 13-week travel assignment with 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience and a BLS certification.

You will perform patient assessments, administer medications, maintain documentation, and educate patients and families. This travel role requires readiness for a fast-paced Med/Surg unit.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• 1–2 years acute care experience.
• Travel assignment expected.
• 12-hour shifts with days.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Educates patients and families about surgical procedures and post-op care.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
