Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Med Surg RN for a travel assignment in Arlington, Texas. The role is a travel position with a 13-week duration, 36 hours per week, and 12-hour day shifts.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience and a current BLS. The job supports bedside care, medication administration, sterile procedures, and patient education in a fast-paced Med Surg environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to read and document patient information.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
