Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse for Med/Surg in Chattanooga, TN. The position is travel-based, 13 weeks long, with 48 hours per week and 12-hour day shifts. ACLS/BLS certifications and 2 years of acute care experience are required.

Duties include bedside assessments, medication administration, wound care, patient education, and discharge planning. Ideal candidate will handle a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed; travel RN assignments and stipends are

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required for Med/Surg travel assignments.
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required.
• RN Med Surg travel position; 13 weeks duration with 48 hours/week and 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
