Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week acute care assignment in South Carolina. Requires SC or compact RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and travel nursing experience. Epic EMR knowledge is required, and SSN is needed for consideration.

Open to candidates within 60 miles, with local candidates considered at a reduced rate. Assignment involves 3x12-hour days, some weekend/holiday rotations, and hurricane-season emergency staffing rules.

Qualifications

• Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only).
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience.
• Epic EMR experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience.
• SSN required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting within the Medical Surgical unit.
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45am-7:15pm).
• Holiday rotation required.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirements.
• No floating required.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams.
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• Candidates must live within a 60-mile radius, though local candidates will be considered at a reduced rate.
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks.
• Block scheduling requests may be submitted but are not guaranteed.
