Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med Surg/Stepdown RN for a 13-week day shift assignment in South Carolina. The role involves frequent floating between Med Surg and Stepdown/PCU/Telemetry units on a 3x12 schedule.

Requirements include SC or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, 2+ years med-surg, IV start, and Meditech experience preferred but not required. Travel rate eligibility applies for those living more than 50 miles from the facility.

Qualifications

• Active SC or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of med surg experience required.
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to frequent floating.
• IV start skills required.
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• 29-bed general surgical and orthopedic unit with medical overflow.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00).
• Frequently floats between Med Surg and Stepdown/PCU/Telemetry units.
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on Stepdown and 1:5-6 on Med Surg.
• Works weekdays with every other weekend required.
• Holiday rotation required as needed.
• Uses Meditech EMR.
• Provide nursing care across Med Surg, Stepdown, and MS/Tele units as needed.
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white scrub color required.
• Candidates must be comfortable with frequent floating within the hospital.
• Floating is conducted in accordance with Joint Commission standards, including appropriate orientation to new units.
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure.
• Facility will not accept candidates with license or background issues.
• Minimal to no RTO approved, especially during the first weeks of assignment.
