Job summary

TalentBurst is seeking a Travel Med-Surg RN for Nashville, TN. 13-week onsite contract starting 11/02/2026 with 12-hour day shifts; 3 days per week. Compensation includes a $1,610 weekly stipend and a $261 weekly base pay ($7.25/hour).

Active RN license and BLS required; unit handles 34 beds with 6:1 patient ratio. Hospital features stroke certification and trauma center. Candidate must start IVs, perform wound care, and manage drains; travel nurses float per policy.

Qualifications

• Med/Surg RN experience with ability to prioritize care and multitask.
• Must have active RN license and BLS certification.
• Experience starting IVs and basic wound care.
• Ability to manage surgical drains, chest tubes, NG tubes and related procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, compassionate bedside care and family involvement in care planning.
• Perform bedside shift reports and ensure accurate documentation.
• Adapt to unit needs; participate in floating policy and rotation when required.

Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): Tech support on day shift and night shift. Unit secretary 7a-7p.
Type of equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCD s, Continuous Pulse Ox Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology
Documentation system: Meditech
Scheduling requirements: 3 12 hours shifts/week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4 week schedule
Floating policy: Contract labor is first to float; go by rotation when there are multiple C/L staff scheduled
Patient Experience requirements: Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients/family members. Bedside shift report, ability to make personal connections with patients and include them/family members in their plan of care.

Certifications: Comprehensive Stroke, Client Verified Level II Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center
