Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN seeks a Night Shift RN for a 13-week Med/Surg travel assignment in the Neuro Med/Surg unit. The role runs 12-hour nights, three days per week, with a fast-paced schedule and a 20-bed unit. Comprehensive benefits and on-site support are provided by TalentBurst.

The ideal candidate has RN licensure with BLS, Med/Surg experience, and the ability to start IVs, manage drains, and multitask while delivering compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license and BLS certification.
• Med/Surg and neuro/med-surg experience preferred.
• Ability to start IVs and perform basic wound care.
• Maintain surgical drains, NG tubes and chest tubes.
• Strong prioritization and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate Med/Surg patient care on a 20-bed unit.
• Monitor patient status during night shift and escalate changes.
• Administer medications and therapies per physician orders.
• Document on Meditech and participate in bedside shift reports.
• Follow staffing rotations and floating policy as assigned.

Unit Specifics:
Number of Beds : 20
Patient Ratios : 6:1
Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): Tech support on day shift and night shift. Unit secretary 7a-7p.
Type of equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCD s, Continuous Pulse Ox Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology
Documentation system: Meditech
Scheduling requirements: 3 12 hours shifts/week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4 week schedule
Floating policy: Contract labor is first to float; go by rotation when there are multiple C/L staff scheduled
Patient Experience requirements: Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients/family members. Bedside shift report, ability to make personal connections with patients and include them/family members in their plan of care.
