Job summary

Bishop-McCann, LLC is seeking a Travel Manager with strong Sabre GDS experience to oversee end-to-end travel programs for clients. You will manage client relationships, coordinate with internal teams, and ensure seamless travel logistics from planning to onsite execution.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, international booking capability, and travel up to 15%. This is a remote role aligned to US business hours with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working in GDS (Sabre).
  • Domestic and international booking and ticketing experience.
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs while maintaining accuracy.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%. ARC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships with trust and high‑quality service.
  • Provide clear direction to travel team and coordinate with Attendee Experience and Program Managers.
  • Lead program timelines and ensure milestones are met.
  • Provide agent‑assisted reservation fulfillment, including ticketing and exchanges.
  • Prepare arrival & departure manifests and manage SABRE‑to‑Cvent queue processing.
  • Oversee budgeting, site visits, travel, and onsite execution.
  • Ensure timely final billing, reconciliations, and post‑program evaluations.

The Role at a Glance:

  • Title: Travel Manager
  • Reports to: Head of Travel
  • Employment Type: Full Time, Exempt
  • Location: Remote (U.S. business hours) — travel required (15%+)

Key Responsibilities:

Program & Client Management

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships built on trust and high-quality service.
  • Provide clear, consistent communication and direction to our travel team, partnering with our Attendee Experience and Program Managers, along with our clients, to ensure a smooth travel experience for all attendees and associates.
  • Lead program timelines and ensure all milestones and deliverables are met.

Program Planning & Execution

  • Follow established program preparation protocols and department procedures.
  • Provide agent-assisted reservation fulfillment, including ticketing, exchanges, refunds, and voids.
  • Provide live meeting support as outlined in the department guide and prepare flight records for ticketing.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate Arrival & Departure (A&D) manifests, including air itineraries, updates, SABRE-to-Cvent queue processing, and quality control.
  • Support onsite preparation and partner with our after-hours team to ensure seamless onsite air support.
  • Oversee all program elements, including budgeting, site visits, travel, and onsite execution.

Budget & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
  • Track cost savings and avoidance throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Ensure timely and accurate final billing and reconciliations.
  • Provide post-program evaluations, reporting, and insights to clients and internal teams.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

Required

  • 5+ years of experience working in GDS (Sabre).
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency navigating multiple technology platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Domestic and international booking and ticketing experience.
  • Strong listening, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Collaborative approach to partnering with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
  • Ability to assess client needs and recommend strategic, service-focused solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A customer service expert who consistently delivers exceptional client experiences.
  • Ability to manage stress, prioritize competing demands, and perform effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Passion for the hospitality and air travel industries, with a commitment to delivering outstanding travel experiences.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%.
