Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current ARRT certification required.
• Current Mammography certification (ARRT-M) required.
• Current state licensure if required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 1-2 years of recent Mammography Technologist experience preferred.
• Experience performing screening and diagnostic mammography procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses AIDET when communicating with patients to identify service requirements, ensure correct exam, and establish rapport.
• Instructs patients and/or families regarding the test and assesses tolerability of the exam.
• Positions patient and adjusts equipment to set exposure factors for mammography.
• Follows safety, infection-control, and radiation policies; maintains sterile technique.
• Collaborates with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Maintains documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, and shielding precautions.

Education
