Job summary

Focus Staff is seeking a Travel Certified Mammography Tech in Greenbrae, CA. This contract assignment runs 9 weeks with 3x12 night shifts, supporting early detection and high-quality imaging for patients.

The role requires ARRT and ARRT-M Mammography certifications, BLS, and 1–2 years of relevant experience. Travel, housing support, and comprehensive benefits are part of the package.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current ARRT certification required.
• Current Mammography certification (ARRT-M) required.
• Current state licensure if required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent Mammography Technologist experience preferred.
• Experience performing screening and diagnostic mammography procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses AIDET when communicating with patients to identify service needs and build rapport.
• Instructs patients and families about tests and assesses tolerance.
• Prepares patient and area, positions patient, and adjusts equipment for exposure factors.
• Ensures safety, infection control, and proper sterility during procedures.
• Works with engineers/physicists to maintain equipment readiness and reports issues.
• Obtains and maintains requisitions, patient history, pregnancy status and shielding precautions.

Mammo Tech Requirements:

Mammo Tech Responsibilities:

• Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to: identify patient service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others.
• Instructs/communicates with patient and/or patient`s family regarding the test to be performed and assesses patient`s ability to tolerate exam.
• Prepares patient or area for mammography procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
• Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols and techniques. Uses proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive mammography procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements.
• Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues to management or appropriate department.
• Obtains, verifies and maintains all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status and shielding precautions taken, consent forms, etc
