Job summary

Road & Rail Services is seeking an experienced Composite Locomotive Repairman to travel to railroad facilities and project locations for inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of locomotives. This is not an entry-level role and relocation to Mulberry, FL may be offered for qualified professionals.

The job requires hands-on locomotive experience, ability to diagnose problems, perform welding and mechanical repairs, and travel extensively with a valid license.

Qualifications

• Hands-on locomotive maintenance and repair experience
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively
• Willingness to relocate to Mulberry, FL

Responsibilities

• Inspect locomotives and identify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and operational issues
• Diagnose locomotive failures and determine appropriate repairs
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections
• Repair and replace locomotive components and assemblies
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, air/ brake systems, and electrical components
• Weld, cut, fabricate, and perform other mechanical repairs
• Read schematics and repair instructions
• Use diagnostic and hand/power tools and railroad equipment
• Complete maintenance and repair documentation
• Verify repairs before return to service
• Follow safety requirements and maintain clean work areas
