Job summary

Road & Rail Services is seeking an experienced Locomotive Mechanic to join our Mulberry, Florida operation. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel locomotives, perform preventive maintenance, and support relocation as needed.

Ideal candidates have hands-on locomotive maintenance experience, welding and fabrication skills, and the ability to travel occasionally for repairs at other facilities. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Professional hands-on locomotive maintenance experience.
• Experience repairing diesel locomotives.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of locomotive engines and components.
• Experience with electrical, pneumatic, air, and brake systems.
• Welding and fabrication capabilities.
• Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment and industrial tools.
• Willingness to relocate to Mulberry, Florida and travel as needed.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose locomotive mechanical and equipment failures.
• Inspect diesel locomotives and determine necessary repairs.
• Troubleshoot engines, electrical systems, air systems and brakes.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Repair, remove, and replace locomotive components.
• Welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication work.
• Use electrical meters, diagnostic devices, hand tools and power equipment.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and manuals.
• Test equipment and verify operation after repairs.
• Maintain maintenance records and safe work areas.
