Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Vallejo, California. The RN will provide skilled obstetric care during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period, with a 18-week assignment and 36 hours per week on day shifts.

The role requires L&D experience, CA RN license, and BLS; NRP certification is required, with additional certifications preferred. Travel benefits and competitive pay are included.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Labor and Delivery experience.
• Valid RN license in CA.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing guidelines.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor, delivery, and examinations.
• Provide immediate postpartum care for mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and team members to ensure cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document care and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with hospital policies, state and federal guidelines.
