Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Akron, Ohio. The Labor and Delivery RN provides comprehensive obstetric care, partnering with physicians and the care team to monitor mother and baby, administer meds, and respond to emergencies.

This 7-week travel assignment offers night shifts, 12-hour blocks, competitive pay, and benefits. Requirements include RN license, BLS, NRP, and recent Labor & Delivery experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid RN license compliant with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) required.
• NRP certification required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor, delivery, and examinations.
• Provide postpartum care, assess mother and newborn, ensure safety.
• Educate patients on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians and anesthesiologists for cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document care in medical records and participate in quality improvement.
