Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 14-week travel assignment in Joplin, MO. You will provide comprehensive obstetric care, monitor fetal status, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Start date is 11/02/2026, with a 36-hour week and night shifts.

This travel role offers competitive pay and extensive benefits. The ideal candidate has 1+ year of L&D RN experience, an active RN license, and BLS; NRP certification is required.

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in accordance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor and delivery
• Provide immediate postpartum care for mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists and care teams
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols
• Document care and interventions in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with regulatory standards for obstetric nursing care
• Perform other duties within labor and delivery scope
