Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Henderson, North Carolina. Start date 11/30/2026 with 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts.

Travel status and NC license in good standing are required, along with BLS and NRP certifications. Responsibilities include direct obstetric patient care, fetal monitoring, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure safe labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state where you practice
• BLS required (AHA/ARC)
• NRP Certification preferred
• Strong reading, writing and communication skills in English
• Physical ability to lift/move equipment and assist with procedures

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in obstetric nursing care
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during labor, delivery, and examinations
• Provide immediate postpartum care and stabilize mother and newborn
• Educate patients on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists and the care team
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols
• Document care and interventions in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other procedures
• Adhere to hospital policies, state and federal regulations
