Qualifications

• 3+ years acute care experience
• BLS, NRP, NIH required; additional certifications may be required before assignment

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor
• Monitor contractions and assist with breathing techniques
• Check cervix periodically to monitor dilation
• Keep beds clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids
• Assist physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments
• Provide immediate care of newborn
