Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse working in a high-risk, high-volume labor and delivery department located at a healthcare facility. The position involves supporting midwifery clients, private obstetric practices, and adult recovery services, with a focus on managing fast-paced, high acuity cases. The role requires functioning as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, providing ongoing neonatal care, and supporting obstetric patients with various complex clinical needs.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with posted schedules every 6 weeks to meet unit needs.
• Required Qualifications: 1 year of experience, high-risk obstetrics experience, active compact license, ACLS (Preferred), AWHONN Advanced (Preferred), BLS, NRP certifications, valid state license, and ability to work in fast-paced, high acuity environments.
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP.
• Float: Float: Postpartum / Antepartum - may float to sister facilities that do Mother/Baby, with occasional floating to other units such as Antepartum, Postpartum, NICU, or other units if necessary.
• Additional Information: Must circulate during deliveries, providing neonatal care including eyes, thighs, assessments, and injections. Experience in electronic fetal monitoring (EPIC Hardstop) and following AWHONN guidelines is valued. Candidates must be capable of assisting with high-risk deliveries, functioning as Baby Nurse, with responsibilities including newborn assessments, IV management, and assisting in various obstetric procedures. Willingness to work every other weekend, holidays, and to accommodate unit needs is required.
