Job summary

Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist for a travel assignment at a 162-bed acute care hospital on California's Central Coast. Epic experience is required to ensure seamless integration with the EMR and lab workflows.

You will perform venipuncture, process specimens, and accurately enter orders while supporting a fast-paced hospital lab team. This 8-week contract offers a coastal living environment and a collaborative, professional work atmosphere.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current CPT-I license required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current Epic experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection using age-appropriate techniques.
• Process, label, accession, and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Enter patient registrations and laboratory orders accurately.
• Package and transport specimens while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Monitor laboratory workflow and prioritize urgent specimens.
• Answer laboratory calls and communicate results when appropriate.
• Maintain inventory, documentation, and quality standards.
• Support a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment.
