Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist for a 13-week travel assignment at a California acute care hospital. Epic experience is required, along with CPT-I and BLS certification.

The role involves venipuncture, specimen processing, and accurate data entry in a fast-paced environment. Location Fort Bragg, CA with rotating 5x8 shifts including early and late hours; no on-call; weekend same schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Current CPT-I license is required.
• Current BLS certification.
• Epic EMR experience is required.
• Acute care phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection using appropriate techniques.
• Process, label, accession, and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Enter patient registrations and laboratory orders accurately.
• Package and transport specimens while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Monitor laboratory workflow and prioritize urgent specimens.
• Answer laboratory calls and communicate results when appropriate.
• Maintain inventory, documentation, and quality standards.
• Support a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment.
