Job summary

Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist for a travel assignment at a California hospital on the Central Coast. The role requires Epic experience, a high school diploma, and current BLS certification. You will perform venipuncture, process specimens, and handle orders in a fast-paced acute care lab.

Location is Clearlake, California with a 13-week contract and multiple shift times. No call required and Epic EMR familiarity is essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Epic experience required for the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection using age-appropriate techniques.
• Process, label, accession, and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Enter patient registrations and laboratory orders accurately.
• Package and transport specimens while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Monitor laboratory workflow and prioritize urgent specimens.
• Answer laboratory calls and communicate results when appropriate.
• Maintain inventory, documentation, and quality standards.
• Support a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment.
