Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel RN Labor and Delivery for a 13-week travel assignment in Oxnard, CA. Start date 10/12/2026, 36 hours per week, 12-hour nights, travel role with competitive pay and benefits.

The Labor and Delivery RN will assess maternal and fetal health, monitor labor, administer medications, assist with cesarean sections, and collaborate with obstetric teams. Requirements include CA RN license, BLS, NRP, and 1 year L&D experience.

Qualifications

One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
NRP Certification required.

Responsibilities

Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing techniques.
Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
Comply with regulatory standards for obstetric nursing care.
Perform other duties within the labor and delivery scope.
