Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a 13-week assignment in Somerset, Kentucky. This role offers 36 hours per week, night shifts, and a chance to impact maternal and newborn care.

The RN will provide obstetric care, monitor fetal status, administer medications, and collaborate with surgeons and nurses. Required include one year of L&D experience, RN license, BLS, and NRP certification.

Qualifications

One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
Current RN license in good standing with state regulations.
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.

Responsibilities

Assess maternal and fetal health and provide direct patient care.
Administer medications and treatments per obstetric nursing standards.
Assist during labor, delivery, and cesarean sections and provide immediate postpartum care.
Monitor fetal status and document assessments and interventions.
Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and neonatologists to ensure high-quality care.
Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
Maintain accurate medical records and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
