Job summary

TotalMed is seeking a Labor and Delivery travel nurse for a 13-week assignment in Dubuque, IA. The role requires 3 years of acute care experience and 12-hour night shifts on a 36-hour work week. Travel status and tax-free stipends may apply as part of the package.

Responsibilities include monitoring during labor, assisting with delivery procedures, and providing immediate newborn care. Certifications ACLS/BLS/NRP/STABLE/FHM are highly valued for this position.

Qualifications

• 3 years of recent acute care experience required.
• L&D RNs provide care before, during and after delivery.
• ACLS, BLS, FHM, NRP, STABLE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and assist with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression/dilation.
• Ensure beds are clean and dry; manage fluids.
• Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, instruments.
• Immediate care of newborn.
