Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The right RN should have 3 years' recent acute care experience. L&D Travel Nurses provide care and support for women before, during and after delivery of a baby.

L&D RNs must ensure that the medical as well as emotional needs of their patients are met at all times throughout the birthing process. This position features 12-hour nights, 36 hours per week, and a 13-week assignment with

Qualifications

• BLS and NRP certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience.
• Travel RN requirements include ability to stand/walk long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and assist with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression.
• Keep beds clean and dry and assist with delivery environment.
• Aid physician with delivery instruments and set up.
• Provide immediate care to the newborn.
