Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a 13-week assignment in Covington, LA. The position features 36 hours per week, night shifts, and 12-hour shifts, with competitive pay and full benefits.

Ideal candidates will have 1 year of L&D RN experience, an active Louisiana RN license, BLS and NRP certifications, and preferrred AWHONN fetal monitoring, STABLE and ACLS credentials.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience.
• Valid RN license for Louisiana.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP Certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in obstetric nursing.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examinations.
• Provide immediate postpartum care and stabilize mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and team members for cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with hospital policies, state and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing.
