Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Alexandria, LA. You will work 36 hours per week on a 12-hour night shift, providing obstetric care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS, NRP, and recent L&D experience. This position offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and support from a dedicated clinical team.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to think critically and assess obstetric scenarios clearly.
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and health teams.
• Solid reading and writing skills in English; competent with basic PC tools.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members.
