Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel assignment in Huron, South Dakota. Start ASAP for 13 weeks, 36 hours per week on the night shift. Travel position with competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

The role requires 1 year of recent L&D RN experience, a valid RN license, BLS, and NRP certification. Additional certifications such as AWHONN fetal monitoring, STABLE and ACLS may be preferred.

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license compliant with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in obstetric nursing.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
