Shifts are 12 hours with a 36-hour work week, three days weekly, and call obligations. Start ASAP for an eight-week assignment; travel benefits, per diem and licensure reimbursement are provided.

Qualifications

• Active KY or compact RN license at consideration.
• 2+ years PACU or specialty experience.
• 1+ year ICU experience.
• IR PACU experience with phase 1 recovery.
• Pediatric patient experience.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS certifications (PALS may be obtained prior).
• No license hits; at least 1 reference from a charge nurse or supervisor.
• Travel and licensure reimbursements offered.

Responsibilities

• Work in the IR PACU at a hospital setting.
• Support interventional radiology cases and phase 1 recovery.
• Care for adult and pediatric patients.
• Cover 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week; start times 6:00–8:00 AM.
• Rotating shifts and late stays; 3–4 late shifts every 6 weeks.
• Respond to calls with 1-hour response time; weekday 8PM–6AM, weekend 12-hour shifts.
• Float within hospital and affiliate locations as needed.
• Primary focus on IR PACU recovery, with post-hours transfers to main PACU.
• Modules completed during orientation averaging 6.5 hours.
• No local candidates within 75 miles; return staff after 90 days away.
• Holiday and weekend shifts may be required.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an IR PACU position with phase 1 recovery and ICU experience, working rotating day shifts and call.

Responsibilities

• Work in the IR PACU at a hospital setting
• Supports interventional radiology cases and phase 1 recovery
• Care involves both adult and pediatric patient populations
• Requires coverage of 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week, with potential start times at 6:00, 7:00, or 8:00 AM
• Rotating shifts and late stays required, 3-4 late stays per 6 weeks
• Call required with one-hour response time; weekday call from 8PM–6AM, weekend call divided into 12-hour shifts
• Must float within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Primary focus is recovery of IR PACU patients, including following patients to main PACU after hours
• Candidates must be able to float to other units or affiliate locations as needed
• Late stays and call shifts are part of the team scheduling
• Modules completed during orientation and annually, averaging 6.5 hours
• No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
• Return staff are eligible if gone for at least 90 days
• Previous employment at the facility must be disclosed for rehire eligibility check
• Holiday and weekend shifts may be required according to the unit schedule

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or specified specialty
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• IR PACU experience with phase 1 recovery required
• Experience caring for pediatric patients required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), PALS (may obtain prior to start if not currently held)
• No license hits accepted
• At least 1 reference from a charge nurse or supervisor required at time of consideration
