American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in St. Louis, Missouri. The role is at a Magnet Level I Trauma Center with Level 1 ICU experience and required BLS/ACLS certification.

Assignments are 13 weeks long, 36 hours per week with 12-hour day shifts. MO or Compact RN license is required; Epic EMR experience is preferred for some units. Travelers receive housing/per diem and travel reimbursements.

Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN with Level 1 ICU experience and BLS/ACLS certification for a Magnet Level I Trauma Center.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 38-bed PACU unit at a short-term acute care, teaching, Magnet hospital
• Patient population includes adults, occasionally adolescents, and geriatrics
• Surgical patients include neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant (excluding open heart and liver transplants)
• Shifts are 4x10 hours, Monday through Friday from 12:00 to 22:30, with rotating start times as needed
• No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
• Floating may be required within scope to meet facility needs
• EMR system used is Epic; Epic experience required for certain units
• Unit supported by dedicated PCT and transport teams
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrub color requirement is navy blue
• Parking is available for $15 per day or $70 per month
• No more than 7 days of requested time off are permitted per 13-week contract; no time off allowed during the first week of orientation
• Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may stay for up to 18 months with a 3-month break after the period

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2-3 years of Level 1 ICU experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Critical care skills required: Phase I PACU, dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from facility (no local candidates accepted)
