Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a specialty assignment in Carmel, Indiana. The role requires ARRT-R, ACLS/BLS, and at least 1 year of IR experience within cardiac interventional labs.

You will work in Diagnostic and Interventional Cath Lab settings, performing 4x10 hour days with call duties and travel requirements. The position is travel-based with competitive stipends and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of IR experience required.
• ARRT-R, ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• License required if applicable.
• Conscious sedation skills required.
• Ability to circulate and scrub in sterile field procedures.
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including LHC, RHC, pacemakers/defibrillators, and STEMI call.
• Experience with IR procedures including venous access, drain placement, GI tube insertion, and embolizations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist in Diagnostic and Interventional Cath Lab settings.
• Perform angiography, embolization, angioplasty and related catheter/drain placements.
• Assist with cardiac cath lab procedures including stent placement and PCI.
• Follow PPE protocols and sterile technique at all times.
• Be available for call duties as required, including holidays.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for Cardiac Interventional Radiology with at least 1 year of experience and ARRT certification required.

Details

• Work in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology settings
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Call required minimum 2 days a week and every 3rd weekend
• Equipment used includes Acist injector, Siemens C-arm, Philips C-arm, Medrad power injector, Rotopro, Diamondback, IVUS, OCT, Shock wave, Rampart, Pneumbra, and Inari
• Cerner charting system used
• 100% floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and ARRT-R certifications required
• License required if applicable
• Conscious sedation skills required
• Ability to circulate and scrub in sterile field procedures
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including LHC, RHC, balloon pumps, temporary and permanent pacemakers/defibrillators, and STEMI call
• Experience with IR procedures including venous access, drain placement, GI tube insertion, PE/DVT treatment, TIPS, PV procedures, fistula work, UFEs, prostate embolizations, and GI/postpartum/internal bleeds
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Travel experience required

Additional Information

• Perform procedural responsibilities including accurate monitoring, equipment setup, EKG lead placement, access site prep, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Perform genitourinary, abdominal, pelvic and vascular studies and procedures including angiography, embolization, angioplasty and various catheter/drain placements
• Assist with cardiac cath lab procedures including cardiac stent placement, IABP placement/removal, PCI, PTCA and rotablator atherectomy
• Follow isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and sterile technique at all times
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or less is auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12+ months of travel employment must complete a designated break before reapplying
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are considered local
