Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. This role requires 1-2 years of vascular/interventional experience, ARRT certification, and BLS.

Expect 4x10 hour days with on-call responsibilities and Epic charting in a busy IR department. Ideal candidates will have ARRT certification, active state licensure if applicable, and a solid understanding of angiography, anatomy, and sterile technique.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of vascular or interventional experience required
  • ARRT(R) certification required
  • BLS certification (AHA) required, must not expire prior to start
  • Active state license required if applicable
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Demonstrated competency in vascular and angiography procedures
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency
  • Knowledge of infection control and sterile techniques
  • Experience operating imaging equipment and performing radiography
  • Ability to recognize and respond to emergent patient situations
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team
  • Proper use of body mechanics during procedures
  • DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Interventional Radiology department performing angiography procedures
  • 3 or 4 10-hour day shifts per week plus call
  • Call requirements include approximately 1 weekday shift per week and 1 weekend per month
  • Uses Epic for charting
  • Requires a personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) for the assignment
  • Provide procedural assistance as a circulating, scrub, or monitoring technologist according to Angio lab policies and scope of practice
  • Operate IR equipment and related information systems to ensure quality imaging
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation
  • Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment
  • Develop knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies and their proper use
  • Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, and consent procedures
  • Provide patient education and address patient or family concerns

Additional Information

  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and any incidents
  • Coordinate patient care and communicate with other providers post-procedure
  • Suture or remove sheaths and apply pressure to achieve hemostasis
  • Maintain work area and stock necessary supplies
  • Transport patients as needed
  • Assist with SIRT mapping/treatments, embolizations, nephrostomy and biliary tube placements
  • Assist with CT-guided procedures including drains, biopsies, and ablations
  • Perform Neuro-IR stroke and diagnostic procedures
  • Returning Intermountain employees must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for this assignment
