Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 3+ years of IR experience for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring a Kansas license.

Details

• Interventional Radiology department within a hospital setting
• 5x8-hour day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Performs a wide range of IR and special procedures including aortography, embolization, liver biopsy, mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, pelvic and renal angiography, RFA of the liver, stent placements, nephrostomy, uterine arterial embolization, and vertebroplasty
• Manages venous access including port access, non-tunneled central lines, and PICC line care and maintenance
• Utilizes GE Innova IGS equipment, PACS, and EPIC EMR
• On-call requirement of 2 weeknights per week and approximately every 5th weekend, covering two facility locations
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed, including support in X-ray when IR volume is low
• Weekend coverage required for call only

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an IR Technologist, with 2 years of recent in-specialty experience within the past 12 months and no employment gaps greater than 90 days
• Current BLS and ARRT R certification required; ARRT VI preferred
• Kansas license (LRT) required; license required if applicable
• Both Kansas and Missouri (or compact) licenses required in hand at time of consideration due to potential floating between facilities
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Required proficiency with Epic EMR
• Skilled in sterile technique, equipment set up, room circulator duties, and scrubbing to maintain sterile field
• Experience with fluoroscopy and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) preferred
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and rapid response/code team protocols

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Scrubs are provided
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates within this radius are not accepted
• Maximum RTO of 7 days, which must be finalized at time of consideration
• Returning staff must have at least an 18-month tenure with a 3-month break in service; former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Two professional references required, including one from a supervisor and one from a charge-level staff member, both from within the past year
• Compliance documentation and required training modules must be completed prior to the start date
