  • Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance with state regulations
  • PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification

Role Summary

The Interventional Radiology Technologist assists physicians in performing minimally invasive procedures using advanced imaging technology. Responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment, operating fluoroscopic and other imaging modalities, ensuring patient safety and radiation protection, maintaining and troubleshooting equipment, and collaborating with the interventional radiology team in a high‑acuity environment.

Essential Work Functions
  • Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
  • Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound, to guide procedures
  • Assist physicians by scrubbing in for sterile procedures, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details
  • Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
  • Ensure proper radiation safety measures for patients, staff, and self
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring readiness for procedures
  • Manage and restock procedural supplies, including catheters, guidewires, and contrast agents
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members to provide seamless patient care
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols
  • Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills

  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical Ability – remain in stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal Skills – work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/Motor Skills – grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Mental Requirements – cope with frequent contact with the general public, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision occasionally or independently, contend with irregular activity schedules, and maintain continuous concentration to detail

Pay Information

Job ID #1924864. Pay package is based on 8‑hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
