Job summary

The Good Life MedStaff is seeking a travel Special Procedures Technologist in West Burlington, Iowa. The role supports interventional radiology procedures and requires ARRT certification with an IR focus.

This travel assignment runs 13 weeks, with a 40-hour week and day shifts. Responsibilities include patient prep, imaging, contrast administration, and equipment maintenance, while ensuring safety and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
• Certification in radiologic technology (ARRT).
• IR certification preferred (ARRT(IR)).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Patient preparation and verification of identity and procedure.
• Explain procedures and address patient concerns.
• Assess medical history for safety during procedures.
• Position patients for imaging and image guidance.
• Operate imaging equipment during procedures to assist team.
• Adjust equipment settings for optimal image quality.
• Sterile setup and equipment maintenance during procedures.
• Document imaging details and patient data accurately.
• Sterilize and maintain interventional equipment.
• Ensure supplies are available before procedures.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and report issues.
• Provide post-procedure clinical support and monitoring.
• Prepare and administer contrast agents as directed.
• Monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Uphold HIPAA and safety regulations; maintain confidentiality.
• Stay current with IR techniques and participate in training.
