Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN in Portland, Oregon for a 13‑week assignment focused on Vascular Access and infusion/PICC care. The role requires at least one year of RN infusion experience, BLS, and eligibility for state licensure.

The shift is 12 hours, days, with 36 hours per week in a travel capacity. The RN will perform PICC placement and central venous access care, administer IV therapies, monitor responses, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required and one year of RN infusion experience preferred.
• Experience with infusion/PICC line management and patient education.
• Eligible for state RN licensure in Oregon or compact state.
• Additional certifications may be required by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients for infusion therapy needs and PICC placement.
• Insert and care for PICC lines and other central venous devices.
• Administer IV meds and fluids with proper technique and monitoring.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Educate patients and families on PICC care and infusion safety at home.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate care across settings.
• Document nursing interventions and patient responses accurately.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times.
• Manage a caseload and ensure timely visits and updates.
