American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for night shifts in North Carolina. The role requires 2+ years of ICU experience and an active NC or Compact RN license, with BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certifications.

EPIC EMR experience is preferred, and candidates should be prepared for a 12-hour night schedule with weekend rotation. The position involves caring for ICU patients in a 16-bed unit within a 96-bed teaching hospital that serves as a primary stroke center.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required.
• Minimum 12 months of core experience in unit specialty within the last year.

Responsibilities

• Manage 16-bed ICU within a 96-bed teaching hospital.
• Handle ARDS, sepsis, COPD, DKA, and stroke cases.
• Maintain ICU RN to patient ratio of 2:1; IMC ratio 3:1.
• CNA support typically 1–2 per shift.
• Work 12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:00), 36 hours/week.
• Every other weekend rotation; no on-call required.
• Floating to Med Surg or ED as needed.
• EPIC EMR used in daily tasks.
