Job summary

TotalMed RN in Washington, DC is seeking an ICU Travel Nurse (RN) for an 8-week assignment. This travel role covers 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts, requiring 1-2 years of acute care experience and NIH, BLS, ACLS certifications.

As an ICU RN, you will evaluate and monitor patients in the ICU, provide direct bedside care, administer medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and communicate patient status to families.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience required.
• NIH, BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 8-week travel assignment with 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care for ICU patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications.
• Order and evaluate diagnostic tests and interpret results.
• Take lab samples and record results, as needed.
• Monitor and adjust ICU equipment and displays.
• Ensure proper placement of catheters and leads.
• Communicate patient status to family members.
