Qualifications

• Must have NAACLS accredited histology HT program OR Associate's degree with 60 semester hours including biology and chemistry, 12 hours.
• Two years of relevant experience.
• ASCP Certification; BLS; Act 34 clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare surgical and autopsy tissue specimens for embedding, cutting, staining, and cover slipping.
• Perform quality control checks at each phase of tissue processing.
• Assist with filing, cleaning and stocking of supplies in the department.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited histology technician (HT) program within the last 5 years OR an Associate's degree or at least 60 semester hours of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university, including a minimum of 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry; 2 years of relevant experience; Licenses and Certifications (PA) American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification; Basic Life Support (BLS); Act 34 clearance
• Preferred Qualifications: HR credential preferred
• Additional Information: The candidate will process and prepare surgical and autopsy tissue specimens for embedding, cutting, staining, and cover slipping, performing quality control checks at each phase.
