Job summary

Yard Stick PBC is seeking Soil Carbon Field Technicians to deploy our soil carbon measurement tech and traditional soil testing across the United States. This contracted seasonal/part-time 1099 role requires extensive travel and hands-on field work in diverse farms and soils.

You will test hardware/software, calibrate systems, and collect measurements on client lands, while providing feedback to improve tools.

Qualifications

• Education or experience in natural sciences, agriculture, conservation, soil science, or related field.
• Extensive field work experience and comfort spending long hours outdoors.
• Familiarity with field tools and strategies including GPS and ATVs.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs precisely.
• Strong independent work style and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Ability to travel across the country for extended periods.
• Interest in farming/agriculture and climate change solutions.
• Ability to provide clear product feedback in writing.
• Authorized to work permanently in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Test Yard Stick hardware and software in field conditions across the US.
• Calibrate technology and collect measurements on client lands.
• Provide feedback to improve hardware, software, and workflows.
• Document issues and brainstorm improvements with teams.
• Work with 2–6 person project teams and adapt to schedules.
