Job summary

Davey Resource Group, Inc. is seeking an entry-level UAM Field Technician 1 to plan, inspect, and collect data on utility infrastructure in various field sites. You will learn and apply technical skills under supervision while contributing to asset management for utility clients.

The role requires travel up to 100% and offers a starting hourly rate of $19–$22 with overtime after 40 hours. Hotel is provided; housing stipends and per diems are available for non-hotel travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Proficiency with basic office apps and data entry; willingness to learn mapping software.
• Strong reading, comprehension, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and follow detailed instructions.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR; must pass Davey Driver’s Safety Course.

Responsibilities

• Operate as a lone worker when needed or as part of a two-person team.
• Meet weekly production targets and client timelines.
• Conduct field audits of utility infrastructure and record observations.
• Use field tech equipment (GPS, cameras, handheld devices) to collect data.
• Record data accurately in the GIS database and ensure data integrity.
• Communicate with property owners and agencies to arrange access.
• Drive and maintain company vehicle across various terrains; travel 75–100%.
• Read maps and navigate terrain in all weather; observe safety regulations.
