Job summary

Fleetworthy is seeking a travel-heavy Field Technician who installs, maintains, and upgrades ITS and CCTV systems at customer sites across the United States. When not traveling, you’ll work from a home office while contributing to life-saving road infrastructure projects.

You will perform installations, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on cameras, traffic systems, and related equipment, collaborating with customers and contractors to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years installing, repairing, and maintaining ITS/CCTV/traffic control systems.
• Specialized training in electronics, networking, and CCTV maintenance or alarm systems installations.
• Ability to read schematics, construction drawings, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain a wide variety of imaging and ITS devices such as CCTV and digital cameras, illuminators, video detection systems, vehicle induction loops, dynamic message signs, solid-state equipment, fiber optic equipment, and related devices.
• Verify proper device and system operation, conduct inspections, and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions, isolate defects, and repair devices and equipment.
• Participate in the design, layout, modification, and fabrication of the ITS components used in the field.
• Read diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and specifications for new installations and continual maintenance of cameras and ITS devices; make corrections to schematics and blueprints.
• Monitor cameras and devices, diagnose issues and safely implement changes for effective system operation.
• Evaluate, plan, direct, and perform repair, removal, and replacement of poles, cabinets, controllers, and other equipment; repair conduit, pull wires and cable, as needed; perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and contractors.
• Make independent technical decisions during maintenance activities.
• Lead and participate in field and bench testing procedures on a variety of camera and ITS equipment, such as digital camera systems, traffic control systems, dynamic message signs, inductive vehicle detection systems, power service assemblies, and others; test, troubleshoot, and repair camera and ITS equipment.
• Assist with the production and testing of new technologies.
