Job summary

Maguire, a leader in water storage tank fabrication and maintenance, seeks a Field Industrial Sandblaster & Painter to support crew in preparing and finishing water towers. You will assist with rigging, blasting pots, paint pumps, and surface preparation while prioritizing safety and quality.

You will work outdoors at height, follow established procedures, and contribute to completing tasks efficiently. Orientation and safety training at the Sioux Falls campus will be required for new hires, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Clear and concise communication, both verbal and written.
• Dependable, trustworthy, and safety-conscious.
• Attend safety orientation and training at our Sioux Falls campus.

Responsibilities

• 100% tie-off when working on a water tower.
• Unload equipment/rigging from the work shack.
• Set up rigging, scaffold, and equipment as directed.
• Rig the tower and operate blast pots and paint pumps.
• Prepare surfaces: pressure washing and light sandblasting.
• Document PPE checks and ensure personal safety gear is used.
• Inspect rigging daily and secure attachment points.
• Operate and fuel compressors and welders when needed.
• Unrig, load, and secure equipment on trailers after job completion.
• Keep ground, truck, trailer, and job shack organized and clean.
• Communicate tasks to foreman and follow procedures.
