Job summary

TotalMed is seeking an Emergency Department travel nurse (RN) for Prestonsburg, Kentucky. The ER RN will evaluate and triage patients, implement physician-directed care, and work in a fast-paced ED with diverse caregivers.

Requirements include 1–2 years of acute care experience and certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIH. The role offers 42 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts with travel benefits.

Qualifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIH certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, triage and implement care per physician instructions in a fast-paced ED.
• Perform minor procedures, advise patients and families on illnesses or injuries.
• Plan long-term care needs and document medical history and allergies.
• Monitor vital signs, maintain healthcare supplies and equipment.
• Provide bedside care, wound care and IV therapy.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.
