Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a hospital in Virginia. The role requires TNCC, ACLS, and PALS certifications and VA or compact RN licensure, with 36 hours per week and shifts 11:00 AM–11:00 PM.

You will work in a 25-bed ED, handle patient ratios 4:1 rising to 5:1 during surges, and use MediTech transitioning to Expanse. Housing allowance and travel/licensure reimbursements are provided, along with benefits from Day 1.

Qualifications

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI
• ED clinical competencies required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Responsibilities

• Work in a 25-bed Emergency Department at a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 4:1, increasing to 5:1 during surges
• Unit staffed with unit secretaries and PCTs when staffing allows
• Uses MediTech monitors and Zoll travel monitors
• Documents in MediTech, transitioning to Expanse in July
• Scheduled for 36 hours per week with every other weekend required for travelers
• Shift hours from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
• Deliver emergency care while prioritizing strong patient communication and connection
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
