Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing seeks an Electrophysiology Lab RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Billings, Montana. You will work with a dedicated clinical team to support EP studies, ablations, and device implants while providing patient assessments and conscious sedation as needed.

The role requires at least one year of EP lab RN experience, active RN license, and current BLS/ACLS certifications. Preferred candidates may hold PALS/ENPC or RCES/RCIS credentials and enjoy comprehensive benefits and

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for EP lab patients and document findings.
  • Educate patients and families on EP procedures, expectations, and post‑procedure care.
  • Assist physicians with EP studies, ablations, and device implantations.
  • Administer medications, including conscious sedation, as ordered.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and hemodynamics during procedures.
  • Identify changes in patient condition and escalate care as needed.
  • Maintain sterile technique and assist with equipment setup and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the care team to implement patient‑centered plans.
  • Provide post‑procedure care and monitor for complications.

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Electrophysiology Lab RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Billings, Montana. Required Qualifications
  • One year’s recent experience as an Electrophysiology Lab RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • PALS or ENPC
  • RCES/RCIS Certification
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Summary

The Electrophysiology (EP) Lab RN plays a key role treating patients with heart failure, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and cardiac arrhythmias. Working alongside electrophysiologists, they assist with arrhythmia ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implants, and medication-based treatments. The EP Lab RN is responsible for patient assessments, procedural support, conscious sedation, and post-procedure monitoring to ensure safe, effective care.

Essential Work Functions
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for EP lab patients and document findings accurately
  • Educate patients and families on electrophysiology procedures, pre-procedure expectations, and post-procedure care to ensure understanding and informed consent
  • Assist physicians with electrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implantations
  • Administer medications, including conscious sedation, per physician orders
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and patient responses throughout procedures
  • Identify and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care as needed
  • Maintain sterile technique and assist with equipment preparation, setup, and troubleshooting to support seamless procedural workflow
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans
  • Provide immediate post-procedure care, monitoring complications and ensuring stable recovery
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills

  • The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
  • Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
