Job summary

Medium is seeking a skilled sonographer to perform home-based echocardiograms for adult and pediatric patients. You will travel to patient homes, set up portable ultrasound gear, explain procedures, and ensure high-quality images that meet ASE standards.

Candidates must hold RDCS or RCS, AE certification, BLS, a valid driver’s license, and 3+ years of recent experience. You’ll work independently in non-clinical settings and communicate clearly with patients and cardiology teams.

Qualifications

• RDCS from ARDMS or RCS from CCI.
• AE certification required; PE certification not required but a plus.
• 3+ years of recent sonography experience in adult and pediatrics.
• BLS certification.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally/regionally.
• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet; tech-savvy.
• Ability to work independently in non-traditional settings.
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner.
• Adaptability in dynamic field-based environments.
• Time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to patient homes to conduct visits.
• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment.
• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participants.
• Perform echocardiograms per protocol on adult and pediatric patients.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging.
• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines.
• Ensure accurate image acquisition and labeling for cardiology review.
• Complete preliminary report with measurements and sonographer comments.
• Maintain high-quality standards consistent with ASE Standards.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment.
