Job summary

Capital One in New York is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Travel Intelligence team. You will own end-to-end ML initiatives in the Hotels domain, from data processing to model deployment, influencing what customers see and pay.

You will collaborate with product and engineering, apply open-source tools on large-scale datasets, and translate complex analyses into measurable business impact, driving trip and pricing decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field plus 6 years of analytics experience.
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field or MBA with a quantitative concentration plus 4 years of analytics experience.
• Strong experience with Python and big data stacks.
• Experience with cloud platforms and open-source ML tools.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver a product customers love.
• Leverage technologies — Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark — to reveal insights from large data sets.
• Build machine learning models through all phases of development: design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation.
• Translate complexity of your work into tangible business goals.
