Capital One is seeking a Data Scientist to join the US Card Data Science team in New York. You will work on underwriting decisions, collaborating with data engineers, product managers, and analysts to deploy scalable ML solutions across billions of records.

You’ll develop models end-to-end using Python, Spark, and cloud tools, translating complex analytics into measurable business outcomes and driving innovation in a fast-paced data-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field plus 6 years analytics experience.
• Master's degree in a quantitative field or MBA with quantitative concentration plus 4 years analytics.
• PhD in a quantitative field plus 1 year analytics experience.
• At least 1 year of experience with open source programming languages for large scale data analysis.
• At least 1 year of experience working with machine learning.
• At least 1 year of experience utilizing relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver a product customers love.
• Leverage a broad stack of technologies - Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark - to reveal insights from large data.
• Build machine learning models through all phases from design to deployment.
• Translate the complexity of your work into tangible business goals.
