Job summary

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel CVOR Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Winchester, VA. The position requires 40 hours per week, 10-hour days, and travel employment with housing options.

Requirements include surgical technology education or equivalent experience, CPR, and CVOR experience focusing on open-heart procedures like CABG. The role involves scrubbing, circulating, and heart holder duties in the CVOR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or 3 years recent experience working as a surgical technician in an acute care setting.
• Current CPR provider card.
• Minimum eighteen months of CVOR recent experience or orientation specific to open-heart patient care.
• Knowledge of CVOR instrumentation for cardiac procedures.
• CABG and cardiac procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments per protocols.
• Functions proficiently in scrubbing, 2nd circulating, and 3rd person/Heart Holder roles of the CVOR.
• Picks supplies for surgeries, sets up instruments and scrubs for surgical procedure, and performs instrument and sponge count accurately.
• Obtains specimens, hand over to circulating nurse and verifies location.
• Facilitates room turnover time.
• Participates in department on-call schedule.
